The U17 elite squad of the United States National Team has confirmed its presence at the XIII Copa Macae de Futebol, a premier football tournament to be held in the northeastern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 2009 edition of Copa Macae de Futebol sub 17 will take place in the town of Macae from july 17th to 26th and it will include the participation of world renowned brazilian clubs such as C.R. Flamengo, Fluminense F.C., Botafogo F.C., Vasco da Gama as well as several other top clubs from Brazil and the world. In the past twelve years teams from all over Brazil have traveled to the cost of Rio de Janeiro to play the Copa Macae sub 17. World class players such as Adriano, Pato, Anderson, Rafael Sobis and Lucas among others have played and excelled in the tournament.
